When a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization needed to assess a design-bid-build plan for a proposed relocation and modernization of its facility, STRUCTR delivered a thorough, unbiased review of the plan as well as insights to positively impact the project and reduce costs.
Beginning with a careful review of the proposed project’s design and pricing, we produced a white paper detailing the pros and cons as well as recommendations to balance first-costs with the design. Inexpensive design revisions to aid long-term operating costs were also highlighted.
Total savings for the new construction first-cost were $50,000 and the operating expense savings totaled approximately $30,000 over the life of the 5-year lease. After the organization’s building committee adopted the white paper in its entirety, and it was approved by the board, changes to the plan were implemented.
Today, the organization is in its new location and the savings were reinvested into additional software and equipment.
